Glow in the dark pillows are a great
addition to any child or teens room.
When the lights are on, it might
look like a simple throw pillow but
when you turn out the lights or turn
on a black light - the designs and
throw pillows come to life.
1. Decide on a shape and size for your throw pillow. Purchase
or create a pattern for your throw pillow.

2. Cut out the pattern or template once enlarged or adjusted to
the perfect size and shape. Remember to leave 1/2 inch to 1
inch for a seam allowance.

3. Pin the template or pattern for the throw pillows to the
material. Cut out two pieces of fabric that are exactly the same
size and shape.

4. Lay one piece of fabric down right side up. Paint this piece of
fabric using glow in the dark paint. If you need to have a design
first-then use some fabric tracing paper with a tracing pen.
Trace your design with the special tracing pen on the special
paper. Then follow the manufacturers directions for ironing the
design onto the fabric. Paint the design with the glow in the
dark paint. Let the paint dry completely before proceeding.

5.Pin the right sides of the fabric together - make sure to pin
the tassels in place securely. Plan the 1 or 2 inch long area
that you will leave open for turning and stuffing your throw
pillow. A good choice would be the bottom side of the pillow if it
has one.

5. Sew around the pinned and marked sections to create your
sew pillow. Turn the pillow right side out and stuff with batting,
stuffing, or your desired material. Some people also stuff with
feathers or shredded old t-shirts.

6. Sew up the small opening in your throw pillow used for
turning and stuffing.

*Create all designs, patchwork, bedding, or decorative
stitching before pinning and sewing the right sides together.

***It is also possible to paint a throw pillow after being
constructed-make sure that the paint is not too runny so that it
does not soak in the stuffing making it stiff and bunched up.

***It is also possible to find glow in the dark fabrics; however,
the designs are limited. With glow in the dark paint, you can
turn any design, fabric, material, or pillows into glow in the dark
